Product Description

Attrition Scrubber Regenerator

The Attrition Scrubber Regenerator is a high-efficiency sand reclamation device based on mechanical attrition and frictional peeling principles, specifically designed to remove residual fired binder films (resin, silicate, or coated layers) from used foundry sand. It is widely used in reclamation systems for no-bake resin sand, CO-silicate sand, and shell sand.

Through intense rubbing, impact, and shearing between a high-speed rotor and wear-resistant liners, sand particles are stressed and abraded against each other, effectively stripping off inert surface layers. This restores the original activity and surface cleanliness of quartz sand, reducing Loss on Ignition (LOI) to ≤0.5%—meeting high-quality mixing process requirements.

Working Principle

1
Feeding Stage: Used sand is fed uniformly into the regenerator via belt conveyor or bucket elevator. Sand temperature should be ≤60°C to protect equipment.
2
Attrition Regeneration Stage (Core Process): Sand enters the regeneration chamber where a high-speed rotor causes intense impact and rubbing against liners. Particles shear and roll against each other, peeling off sintered surface films. This dry process requires no water or chemicals.
3
Discharge & Dust Control: Regenerated sand continuously discharges from the bottom. The fully enclosed design with a pulse cartridge dust collector efficiently captures dust (emissions ≤5 mg/m³).
4
Intelligent Monitoring: Optional sensors for vibration, temperature, and current enable real-time tracking to prevent overload or abnormal wear.

Key Features

High Reclamation Rate Regenerated sand LOI ≤0.5%, low gas evolution, excellent flowability—can replace 90–95% of new sand.
Energy-Saving & Eco-Friendly Dry reclamation with zero wastewater; energy consumption is 40–60% lower than wet reclamation methods.
Wear-Resistant & Durable Rotor blades and liners use NM400 steel or tungsten carbide cladding; components last 1–3 years.
Intelligent Control Optional PLC + HMI touchscreen for automated operation, fault alarms, and remote monitoring.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the sand reuse rate for this system?
The system achieves a sand reuse rate of ≥95%, significantly reducing raw sand consumption and solid waste disposal costs.
What types of foundry sand can be regenerated?
It is highly effective for no-bake resin sand, alkaline phenolic sand, CO2-silicate sand, and shell sand of various grain sizes.
How does the dry reclamation process compare to wet methods?
Dry reclamation requires no water or chemicals, resulting in zero wastewater. It is 40-60% more energy-efficient than wet reclamation.
What level of sand quality can I expect after processing?
The system reduces Loss on Ignition (LOI) to ≤0.5%, restoring original activity and providing excellent flowability for the mixing process.
Is the machine easy to maintain?
Yes, it features quick-opening inspection doors and modular liners. Wear parts can be replaced without disassembling the entire machine, minimizing downtime.
How is dust emission controlled during operation?
The unit is fully enclosed and integrated with a pulse cartridge dust collector, keeping emissions ≤5 mg/m³ to comply with environmental standards.
