The Ring Main Unit (RMU) is a compact, lifetime sealed metal-enclosed switchgear widely used in urban distribution networks. The Ring Main Unit contains one or more load switches (LBS) and earthing switches for incoming and outgoing lines; as well as vacuum circuit breakers, and is equipped with corresponding disconnectors and earthing switches for load feeders.

RMUs are available with different rated voltages depending on the requirements and are suitable for indoor and outdoor installations. All switchgear and busbars are sealed for life in stainless steel housings filled with SF6 gas, making the design compact while ensuring a high level of safety and reliability and achieving a maintenance-free system. The main features include SF6 gas insulation, compact modular structure, integrated protection system, and low maintenance costs.
